Uttaporn Nimmalaikaew is an artist from Thailand, who currently lives and works in Bangkok, that has a unique style of painting 3D looking pieces. He uses paint on a netting and hangs them in layers giving it the incredible 3D quality. His work has a strong influence from his religious views as he is a devout Buddhist and through his pieces he attempts to express the Buddhist philosophy. He has won many art awards including the Sovereign Asian Art Prize in 2006, the Purchase Prize of the 3rd Bangkok Triennale in 2012,  and the 1st prize in the Thai National Exhibition of Art in both 2005 and 2009. He also has had pieces exhibited in Thailand’s Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and National Gallery.
