Solo Woods is a Brooklyn musician, who is experimenting with some interesting combinations of musical genres. I first heard of his music when he was putting out soul-influenced style tunes such as “Long Ways“. I loved that they were instrumentally stripped down to enhance the listening experience of his vocal tone and intimate lyrics. Since then, Solo Woods has developed into an even more well-rounded musician and has been able to find a unique style and niche sound that works perfectly with his songwriting. This song is a great representation of his ability to combine musical styles from not only different genres, but different time periods as well. He uses a new school soul-influenced style of singing, but adds some 80s sounding synth riffs. Although this song is much more instrumentally chaotic than some of his previous songs, he was still able to keep the vocals sounding as intimate as if it was just him singing over a guitar.
