Portland, ME experimental electronic group, Jaw Gems, recently released a banger of an album which will undoubtedly appeal to anyone who enjoys psychedelic, super-inspired electronic and etherial soundscapes. The quartet’s second album, Heatweaveris a 14-track trip through the twisting turns and reverberant drops of the creative beatmaking minds of Tyler Quist, Andrew Scherzer, DJ Moore and Ahmad Hassan Muhammad.  Anyone with a J Dilla, Washed Out or Daedalus pandora station will surely dig Jaw Gems.  As a Portland native with a sweet tooth for good electronic, I’m a huge fan of the group; my favorite track off Heatweaver is a toss up between “Studded” and “Lead Sister.”

Do yourself a favor and catch Jaw Gems on Saturday, October 8th at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA.  Also, check out Jaw’s video for “Party Slave,” directed by Jay Brown.
